Everything For Cats

We went to the Cat Show this week. It's called EVERYTHING FOR CATS and we were scheduled to appear at the Pets! Pets! Pets! booth to introduce my new product: Mabel's Table Gourmet Food for Cats & Kittens.

I found it absolutely fascinating! All these booths with stuff for moi -- except I have to admit that some of it was pretty dreadful.

Mabel pushed me around in a Kitty Car that they supplied at the entrance. It wasn't really my style, but it was better than walking and looking at all those feet. And Mabel kept the top unzipped because she knew I was not about to jump out. I pretended it was my convertible that I have in my room at home.

I meowed kind of plaintively when Mabel put me in the car, and she got the message because when we got to the Pets! Pets! Pets! booth, Mabel told them they should make a Tallulah Car and Diana's eyes lit up and she said she'd have her team get right on it.

My Birthday Party

My birthday was absolutely purrrrfect!

Jenny's cake was dee-lish...there wasn't even the tiniest leftover. The humans sang Happy Birthday and my friends meowed....Then I opened the presents (with help from Mabel, of course).

Alice gave me a bell that has the tiniest little tinkly sound.

Rupert gave me two bangle bracelets that Mrs. G gave him for me.

And Monty gave me a feather teaser toy from the cat boutique on Lexington. It wasn't very original...even though Larry Lewis is very sweet, he isn't very original and he picked it out. But Monty gave me lots of kisses and that more than made up for it.

I can hardly wait for my birthday next year...it's going to be a long 365 days.

Birthday Plans

I was walking into the kitchen to get a little snack, when I heard Mabel talking to Jenny.

"I've invited Alice and Becky; Rupert and Mrs. G; Monty and Larry Lewis; and Nigel for Talulah's birthday on Wednesday. Larry Lewis said he'll be at work, but he'll send Monty down with the doorman. We'll need a cake for the cats and another for the grown ups -- what are your thoughts, Jenny?"

"I have a lovely fish mold and I can make a salmon mouse for Tallulah and her friends," Jenny said. "I can pipe out Happy Birthday with colored yogurt, and put in one of those sparklers I keep for special occasions.

For the grownups, I'm guessing you'd be wanting chocolate -- unless you're dieting again, in which case I can make an angel food cake with lemon icing."

"Definitely chocolate," Mabel replied. "After all, it's a birthday -- and make something really yummy for the icing."

I guess I'll have to act surprised when everybody arrives. How will I ever live until Wednesday?

Tallulah's Tiara

Nigel's friend Jeff made me the most beautiful tiara. It's not exactly like the one at Harry Winston -- it's soooo much better because it was made just for moi and it's a perfect fit!

Jeff also took the bracelet Mrs. G. gave me and made it into the most fabulous necklace. I know it's only paste, but I don't think anyone else will figure it out.

And then, Nigel surprised me with a new dress that is purrfect for my new jewelry -- he designed it himself and he wants me to wear it for my birthday -- which is April 1 (hint..hint).

Nigel Takes Me Shopping

Nigel came over this afternoon to discuss my wardrobe. He told Mabel we had to think spring. He opened my armoire and went through my clothes with a vengeance. When he was finished we had quite a pile for the KITTY THRIFT on Lexington Avenue -- all gently used, of course.

Then he bundled me into my favorite carrier and off we went to Harry Winston to check out the tiaras. We don't buy anything there -- it's much too expensive. But Nigel's friend, Jeff can copy anything so he took a quick picture on his phone and we went right over to Jeff's studio.

I can hardly wait for my new tiara...spring gala season is just around the corner.

Dreaming of Scallops

I had the most wonderful dream last night.

We were in Venice -- I've never been to Venice, but I've always wanted to go. We were staying in a villa on the Grand Canal and Jenny was learning new recipes from Luciana, the cook.

Luciana made Cape Sante alla Veneziana, which is scallops Venetian style in English, and it was dee-lish.

Now I just have to get Mabel to take me to Venice in real life.

Mrs. G's Jewelry Box

I just got back from Rupert's house. He lives with Mrs. G in the penthouse of 997 Fifth Avenue where I live too.

Mrs. G has the most fabulous jewelry I've ever seen and Rupert picked out a beautiful necklace just for me. It's gold with emeralds that match my eyes. Rupert is so sweet.

But Mrs. G took one look and removed the necklace at once. "Tallulah darling," she said. "You can't possibly have that necklace -- Herbert gave it to me for my 40th birthday. Come sweetheart...you can pick something from this box. They're costume pieces but they're quite wonderful. Besides I know how much you like costumes."

I picked out a fake emerald and amethyst necklace...but it just wasn't the same.

Alice Comes For Tea

Mabel invited Alice to come for tea -- it's a special fish tea that Jenny invented and it's absolutely dee-lish!

I was wearing my new spring cape from Betsy Johnson and Alice arrived totally naked -- poor thing -- she doesn't really have any clothes. So I opened my closet and pulled out a lovely Miu Mui cape from last year. It's a little too big for Alice, but later I heard Mabel say that she'd have Nigel fix it for her.

Alice looked adorable! She was so happy, she couldn't stop purring. When Becky came to pick her up, she was delighted with Alice's new cape. I hope she gets the message and starts shopping.

Greenmarket Saturday

It's spring today and Mabel took me to the Union Square greenmarket to shop for food. Larry Lewis came with us, but he left Monty home, which I must say was a big disappointment.

We went right to the fish monger, of course, and Mabel picked out the most beautiful flounder. I wonder how Jenny will cook it for moi.

Mabel walked past the wheat grass because I don't like it at all, but Larry Lewis stopped and got some for Monty because he's crazy about it.
