Packing For The Country

Christmas was more fabulous than even I could have imagined. We wrapped presents for all of my friends, and they gave presents to me. It was so exciting to open everything and I got to play with all of the beautiful ribbons and wrapping papers.

Actually, the whole thing was quite exhausting, so I'm glad we were invited to spend New Years in the country with Mrs G and Rupert. Mabel packs as if she's going away for a month instead of a week, but all I need is my little brown leather suitcase with my initial on the front. I packed a party dress for New Year's Eve and lots of scarves and mittens because there's snow all over.

We're leaving early in the morning, so I think I'll go to sleep now...and dream of mice!

Hanging the Christmas Wreath

Mabel and I went to the Greenmarket so we could Christmas-ize the apartment. First we bought a huge wreath that had red balls and holly berries to put on the front door of 5A. Then we got yards and yards of pine boughs and pine cones and holly sprigs to decorate the mantels and the window sills. We also got lots of poinsettias -- some in red and some in white because Mabel likes to put them all over the house.

My favorite flowers are the amaryllis bulbs. Mabel kept picking up the red ones, but I meowed and meowed and pulled on her coat sleeve until she finally realized that the best ones had red and white striped flowers -- much more festive as far as I was concerned. I don't know what she would do without me!

When we finished decorating, Mabel invited my friends for Christmas cookies and fish tea. They all admired the wreath and they got to take home their very own little catnip plants in tiny green pots tied with a red ribbon.

Don't you just love Christmas!

Tallulah & Friends in The Christmas Mirror

Alice and Rupert and Monty came to my Tallulah The Cat Store today to buy Christmas clothes. We all dressed up and Mabel took pictures to put on the bulletin board in the store, and then she gave some to each of my friends.

We looked so fabulous that almost everyone in the store bought Christmas clothes for their cats, too. There are going to be a lot of very happy, very well dressed cats this season.

I am so proud.

Christmas Cat Clothes at The Tallulah the Cat Store

I got a big surprise this morning. Diana came to the store from Pets! Pets! Pets! loaded down with boxes. They were all tied up because Diana knows how much I love to pull at the ribbons and paper.

Inside the boxes were Christmas clothes for my Tallulah The Cat Dolls, which are a big hit in my store. The everyday outfit is a red and green striped cape with a red and green plaid bow. It's very nice, but kind of ordinary. The really special one is the Sugarplum Fairy outfit. There's a long red velvet cape with rhinestone stars all over it and white fur trim. And then, there's a tiara with red and green twinkles.

And the biggest surprise was in the last box -- both outfits made especially for moi! Now I can dress my Tallulah doll and myself like twins.

Decorating the Tallulah the Cat Store

We've been so busy decorating the store that I haven't had a minute to write the blog. There are ribbons and bows and tinsel around the windows and walls, and a Christmas tree decorated with cat toys.

Mabel thought we should pre-wrap a lot of things to make it easy for people in a hurry. We wrapped lots and lots of cat toys and Tallulah's Treats and my Tallulah the Cat doll. We also made boxes of the Mabel's Table Gourmet Food in two different sizes: Gourmet Week and Gourmet Weekend.

The part of the store that cats like best is the mirror they look in when they're trying on cat clothes. It looks very Christmassy with tinsel and red and green balls.

Cat Store Bulletin Board

Tallulah The Cat Store is is so much fun. I love to drop in and watch people buy Tallulah stuff. I especially like it when people bring in their cats and their cats' pictures. It's so cute to watch the little cat faces when they see their little cat faces on the bulletin board.

Nigel had a great idea. Monday is kind of slow at the store, so he brought his camera and took pictures of the cats who came in, and we put them up right away. Everybody loved it. Now Nigel is coming in every Monday to take cat pictures. We may need to get another bulletin board.

Tallulah the Cat Has a Facebook Page

I'm making so many new friends, I decided I should have a special Facebook Page, so last night when Mabel was on Facebook I meowed my little head off. She looked at me, and finally the light bulb went on. I love Mabel, but she's not very good at the computer thing so she called Nigel and made him come right over to Facebook me! I want to have a million, zillion friends...and they'll all buy stuff from my Tallulah The Cat Store. KA-CHING!

The Cats Are Friends Again

I heard Mabel and Mrs. G talking about how my friends are avoiding me. Mrs. G had invited us all to her Penthouse again to play on the terrace and she noticed that Rupert and Alice and Monty kept running away from me. Jenny has been working on a new recipe for catmint tea and Mabel suggested she make up new bowls for the cats and give a tea party.

This afternoon my friends came over and I was a nervous wreck. What if they ran away from me in my own apartment? But Jenny laid out a beautiful table cloth and poured her new tea into the new bowls. Everyone loved their bowls and slurped up the tea.

After the tea, Mabel gave a special gift to everyone but me -- which I thought was totally brilliant. Rupert and Alice and Monty tore off the wrapping paper and inside were balls with bells inside. They started to play with them while I watched. After awhile Alice rolled her ball to me and I rolled it back. Then Rupert rolled his ball to me...and finally, Monty rolled his ball to me, too. And we were all friends again.

Tallulah the Cat Book Signing

I just got back from my first book signing at Tallulah the Cat Store and my paw is three times it's normal size from signing all of those books.

Pets! Pets! Pets! put ads in the newspapers and on web sites and Mabel and I got there early to get the signing table set up. Mabel was so worried that nobody would come, she kept pacing around the store and talking to herself and calling her friends on her cell phone. Then she looked out the window and almost had a heart attack. Cats and people were lined up around the block waiting for the store to open.

I talked to the cats and Mabel talked to the people. They were from New York City and New Jersey and Long Island and Connecticut and PARIS and LONDON and even TOKYO!!! It's really lucky that cats have two languages : cat, and people -- from wherever they live.

I think Pets! Pets! Pets! should send me on a round-the-world book tour.

Jealousy is So Ugly!

I have become a social pariah. Mrs. G invited us to come and play on her terrace and Rupert and Alice and Monty ganged up on me. They said my ego is the size of the moon and all I talk about is my store and how famous I am and they're just sick of it. Then they turned their backs and played with Rupert's new wind-up mouse without me.

And Monty -- who I thought would love me forever -- said everybody's getting tired of the Tallulah dolls and they should make dolls of him and Alice and Rupert. Which is really a good idea, but I don't know if Pets! Pets! Pets! will go for it.

It is so not fair of them. I share all my toys and let them drive my car and they get all of Jenny's food for free. Maybe I'll just hang out in my store and make a whole lot of new friends and see how they like that.

Cats & Girls Forever

Our plan worked perfectly. Zan rang our bell and when Mabel answered the door, I ran down the hall and scratched on Becky's door. Zan came after me, while Alice meowed as loud as she could, and when Becky answered the door, I jumped into her arms and Alice jumped into Zan's arms. After a few seconds, the girls made up.

Mabel and Alice's mother planned a special tea party for the four of us to celebrate. They made invitations and Jenny created a special new dish for the cats called Catmandu -- it's a tall mountain of ground pork with a layer of hard boiled egg yolks and a topping of rice.

For the girls, Jenny made a new kind of cupcake with tiny nuggets of caramels and bitter chocolate, and she put marshmallow frosting on top.

Everything was dee-lish!

Tallulah the Cat and Alice Make a Plan

Alice came over for tea and we commiserated about Becky and Zan's fight. Alice says that Rachel is really stuck up and she's a very bad influence on Becky, who used to be so sweet. Becky is rude to everyone now and her English accent suddenly got very strong like she's some kind of royalty.

Alice doesn't know what to do, but I had an idea. Mabel invited Zan to come and play with me tomorrow. Rachel has to go to the orthodontist so she won't be at Becky's house. I told Alice that when Zan rings our bell, I'll run out into the hall and scratch on Becky's door. Then Alice will scratch on the other side of the door and we'll meow very loudly until Becky opens the door. I'll jump into Becky's arms and Alice will jump into Zan's arms and the girls will have to talk to each other.

Becky & Zan are Fighting

Becky and Zan had a big fight and now they're not speaking to each other.

A new girl named Rachel just moved to New York from London and she knows Becky's cousins, so now Becky and Rachel go everywhere together and Zan feels left out. And I feel left out too because Rachel has no interest in me when she comes to play with Becky -- I can't imagine why not.

So Alice plays by herself and I play by myself and Zan mopes around her apartment, according to Mabel who is friends with Zan's parents. Life is very boring and I'm going to have to do something about it.

Opening Day of Tallulah the Cat Store

Tallulah the Cat Store opened at 10 o'clock and by noon there were cats and humans lined up around the block. They bought so many things I was afraid we would run out, but Pets! Pets! Pets! was totally ready. They had blogged and twittered and advertised and they had a basement full of products to sell.

Jenny gave out hundreds of tastes of Mabel's Table Gourmet Food for Cats and Kittens, Tallulah's Treats and her very own Jenny's Fish Tea. Some of the cats loved the food so much they licked Jenny's hand to thank her. She's already talking about new foods to add.

Becky and Zan and Charlie came after school and they brought lots of friends. They especially loved the bulletin board and promised to come by soon with pictures of their pets. The dog people asked if they could bring pictures, too, and Mabel said the more the merrier.

I have to go to sleep right now because we have to be up extra early to watch The Morning Wake Up Show. They came to the opening with the hosts and they're doing a whole segment on my store in the morning. I just love being famous.

Tallulah The Cat Doll

Diana said she was going to bring over a bunch of stuffed cat samples for us to look at.  I really thought that Pets! Pets! Pets! should make a Tallulah cat.  Who wouldn't want a stuffed cat that looks like moi.

She walked into the store with a big box that was gift wrapped within an inch of its life and she put it on the floor so I could tear off the wrapping.

OMG  they made a Tallulah doll.  She looks just like me and there are different outfits for her.  Mabel must have let them into my closet when I was having a play date.  They have me in my tutu, and my bikini, and my Chanel cape that I wear to the ballet.  I'm so excited I can hardly wait to tell all my friends.

Tallulah The Cat Store Bulletin Board

Mrs. G came to the store with Rupert and she had the best idea. We're going to have a bulletin  board so humans can bring in pictures of their cats.  Mrs. G gave us one of Rupert and me rolling around in the catnip.  Mabel said she has hundreds of pictures of me, of course, and that she'd ask Becky and Larry Lewis for pictures of Alice and Monty.

Becky had the cutest picture of Alice and me on a bicycle for two cats.

Personally, I didn't think Larry Lewis was the picture-taking type, and I was right, of course.  Mabel pulled out our pictures and she was going with Monty just sitting there looking like a cat -- totally boring, so I kept pushing the one of Monty and me on our scooters which is much more exciting.  She finally went with my choice.  Sometimes, humans are so slow.

Decorating My Tallulah the Cat Store

They're working away on my pop-up store. First the walls were going to be pink...then they switched to green...and now they're trying aquamarine. I like aquamarine because it looks like the stone in one my favorite of Mrs. G's rings. Maybe she'll wear it to the opening -- unless they change their minds again.

They also started to put our food on the shelves. Mabel and Diana put all the MABEL'S TABLE FOR CATS & KITTENS in the most prominent place, and TALLULAH'S TREATS were off to the side. Well, I just pushed those MABEL'S TABLE cans right off the shelves. I had to do it three times before they got the message, but they finally realized that the store is about me -- Tallulah. Pets! Pets! Pets! may be the money, but they wouldn't be here without moi.

Pop-Up Store

Pets! Pets! Pets! wants to open a pop up store that will be a laboratory to try out new products....along with our gourmet cat food, of course. They found an empty boutique right around the corner from 997 Fifth Avenue, where we live, and Mabel and I just came home from looking at it. The store didn't look like much to me, but Mabel said it has possibilities.

While we were looking in the window, a cute dog came along and we kind of checked each other out. He told me his name is Max and he lives in the neighborhood. I sort of hoped Mabel would talk to Max's human and maybe we could have a play date, but Mabel can be so paranoid sometimes -- she's probably worried that Max's human is trying to rent the store out from under us.

Right now Mabel is on the phone with Diana at Pets! Pets! Pets! talking about decorating and products and all kinds of things. It's just too exhausting....I think I'll take a nap.

In The Hamptons With Al

The Countess called on Thursday to say we should come to the beach right away and stay until Labor Day. It's lucky we had so many outfits planned.

It turned out that her dog, Alexander The Great, is actually tiny. He’s even smaller than I am and that long name is just ridiculous, so I call him Al.

We're having the best time going to the beach and having barbeques with ribs and lobster…dee-lish!
I hope Al and I can see each other in the city.

Packing for the Hamptons

Mabel’s friend, The Countess, has invited us for Labor Day Weekend. She has a dog named Alexander The Great who she talks about all the time. I’ve never had a dog for a friend and I’m not too sure I’m going to like him….Besides, what kind of name is Alexander The Great?

Meanwhile, Mabel has been going through our closets to choose our outfits. If I have to try on another thing, I’ll have a fit.

Becky Comes Home from Camp

Becky has been in camp in the Adirondacks for weeks and weeks, and Alice would have been devastated if I hadn’t appeared on the scene. As soon as we heard Becky come out of the elevator, we ran to meet her. She looked so cute in her camp uniform.

I wonder if there’s a camp in the Adirondacks for cats.

Miss Thing Does Everything

I love Nigel’s house in The Pines. He has two decks and a swimming pool and best of all he has Miss Thing, who cooks and cleans and does everything around the house including vacuuming…he even vacuumed moi and I absolutely loved it!

Miss Thing made me an umbrella drink that tasted like catnip…dee-lish! I hope I get invited back soon.

Fire Island Weekend

Nigel invited us to his house at The Pines on Fire Island. There are no cars, so everyone uses a wagon to bring stuff everywhere.

Nigel had already picked up groceries, so he added our suitcases and a new fishing rod we brought him for a present . I sat on top of everything, pretending I was the Queen of The Boardwalk…and thinking of the fish Nigel was going to catch for our dinner.

Mousing in Mrs. G’s Attic

Last night we went mousing in one of Mrs. G’s attics. Rupert was excellent at catching mice – he had been doing it since he was a kitten. I had done my share in the basement of the gourmet shop before I came to live with Mabel. But Monty had never seen a mouse in his life, and he was very nervous.

“Don’t worry,” Rupert said, “mousing is instinctive to cats.” I don’t know how Rupert knows these things…he’s a lot smarter than he looks.

As we started up the stairs, Monty saw a mouse peeking out of the wall. I don’t know who was more surprised, but Monty rose to the occasion and pounced.

Boys Hate Water

Mrs. G invited Mabel and me to her country house for the week-end. Monty had arrived the week before and was staying for another week because Larry Lewis was on safari in Africa and he didn’t want Monty to be lonely.

There’s a beautiful pool and I sat in the floating chair, which has a special place for a drink. I invited the boys into the pool, but after dipping in their paws, they jumped back and ran away. I just drank my fish tea which had a little umbrella floating in it. I thought the water was divine.

TV Dreams: Cats Have Talent

Mabel has gotten into the talent reality shows. They’re a little too people oriented for moi…but last night I dreamed there was a show for cats and there I was walking on a tightrope with an umbrella and Rupert was on his unicycle. I woke up before the winner was announced, but I can’t believe any cats could beat us. We were totally fabulous!

TV Dreams: Veterinary Hospital

I dreamed I was a doctor on a television show called “Veterinary Hospital.” Rupert came into the ER with a broken leg and lots of bruises…I think they call them contusions…anyway it sounds medical. Alice was the nurse and Mrs. G was frantic.

TV Dreams: Paw and Order, Part II

I dropped off to sleep very early last night and there I was in a courtroom. Rupert was on trial for stealing a lamb chop. I was his lawyer and Alice was the judge. I wonder if you can get an Emmy for starring in a dream.

TV Dreams: Paw and Order, Part I

I’ve been having the oddest dreams lately. My friends and I watch a lot tv – but definitely not those trashy soaps like “Strays of Our Lives” and “All My Kittens”.

In this dream we were in a police station. I was the Captain, of course. Monty was one of my men and he looked sooo cute in his uniform with his badge and his gun. And Rupert was the perp.

I’m going to sleep really early tonight to find out what happens next.

The Kitty Pool

Alice and Becky invited me to the beach for the week-end. Their house is near the ocean, but Becky says it’s too hard for a cat to swim in the waves, so her parents got a special swimming pool just for us. It was the purrrrfect place to spend a hot summer day.

Becky’s mother made fish iced tea and we had catnip cookies that Mabel had packed for a house gift.

Cats on Wheels: Tallulah & Rupert

Rupert is so clumsy. We were roller blading in the park…or I was roller blading and trying to teach Rupert what to do. I said, “Hold on and do what I do.”

Did he listen to me? NO…he just let go of my dress and fell right on his back. Lucky I’m so graceful or I would have been right next to him…on the ground…skates up in the air.

Cats on Wheels: Tallulah & Monty

Larry Lewis got Monty a razor for his birthday…not the shaving kind…a scooter. Monty is a natural athlete so he just took off and flew down the paths in Central Park.

Mabel got me a scooter so I could have a play date in Central Park with Monty. It was very scary, but I pretended I knew what I was doing, and after awhile I was almost as good as Monty.

Cats on Wheels: Tallulah & Alice

It was a beautiful day for a bike ride and Mabel rented a tandem bike for Alice and me. Unfortunately, Alice is so tiny her paws didn’t reach the pedals, so I had to do all the work.

Everyone kept saying how adorable we were, and lots of people took our picture. There was a reporter from NY1 and she interviewed Mabel and told us to watch tonight. I hope nobody famous does something to take our spot on the News…I love being on television!

Mabel Gets Into Ceramics

As if she doesn't have enough to do, Mabel signed up for a ceramics class. She took me with her when she was checking it out, and between you and me, I'm not sure if she's taking the class because she likes ceramics or because the teacher is really hot!

The first project is to pour clay into a mold for a bowl and then to decorate the bowl. Well...being Mabel, she made four bowls when everybody else made one. She's busy in her room making drawings of her decorations. Since there are four bowls, I think she's making them for the Cat Advisory Board -- that's me and Alice and Monty and Rupert.

I hope my bowl is pink.

Chicken Medley

Summer finally got here and Jenny is making new dishes for me.  Today I had Chicken Medley.  I thought she said Chicken Melody and she was going to sing while she cooked, but then Mabel said, "What a great idea, Jenny.  You have a whole medley of colors and tastes going on."  So I guess it means kind of a mixture.

Chicken Medley looks very pretty in my bowl.  The chicken is white, the peas and squash are green,  and the carrots are orange -- Deelish!

The Carousel

We went to Bryant Park instead of Central Park.  I rode on the rabbit with Zan and Alice rode on the frog with Becky.  Then we all rode on horses.  Then we switched and I rode on the rabbit and Alice rode on the frog. Then Alice and Becky and I rode inside a cat and Zan rode on a horse. We kept going around and around and around over and over.  Then we sat on the lawn and had a picnic that Jenny made:  sandwiches for the girls and fish cookies for the cats -- Dee-lish.

Books of Wonder & The Cupcake Cafe

Zan and Becky love going to Books of Wonder.  It's the best bookstore for children's books and they have The Cupcake Cafe right in the store.  They have beautiful cupcakes and cookies and the girls love them, but unfortunately they're not for cats.  They also have three huge dancing cupcakes on display and they turn back and forth -- you have to go there and see it -- right now!

The girls had cupcakes and Zan read me a story.  She also brought one of Jenny's fish cookies for me to eat.  I wish they had Tallulah's Treats so every cat could eat them when they go to Books of Wonder.

Arranging Our Day

Mabel and I like to start the day having breakfast in the kitchen.  Today, Jenny made blueberry muffins for Mabel and she gussied up a leftover of steamed halibut with tiny bacon nuggets for moi...dee-lish.

Today, Mabel is going to the Metropolitan Museum with the Countess and since school is out, Becky and Zan are taking Alice and me to Central Park.  I heard them talking about a big surprise for us -- I hope I like it.

Cat Kites

Mrs. G took pictures of us watching Charlie fly his fish kite and she sent them to Mabel.  Mabel said if fish could fly then cats could too, and she went right out and bought four kites.  Then she called Nigel and asked him to paint a picture of each of us on a kite.

We love watching ourselves flying up over New York.

Backstage at the Ballet

We went to the ballet to see the farewell season of a famous Russian ballerina with a very long name that I can't pronounce.  Mabel has known her forever so we went backstage, of course.  There was champagne and food and they had a plate of caviar on a little table just for moi.  That night I had my ballerina dream...the one where I wear a beautiful pink tutu.

Eating the Cookie Batter

Jenny decided to make a new version of catnip cookies for Tallulah's Treats and Rupert and I went into the kitchen to see if we could help.  She gave us each a tiny taste of the batter to see if we liked it.  It was dee-lish.

Then the phone rang and while Jenny was talking, Rupert and I decided to have another taste...and one taste led to another...and another...and a big scolding from Jenny, who had to make more batter.

Flying A Kite

I just had the best ever time at Mrs. G's penthouse. Charlie brought his fish kite and everyone was there -- Alice and Becky, Monty and Charlie, Rupert and Mrs. G, and Zan and moi. Actually, Zan has sort of become my step-human since Mabel is always so busy being social -- not that I mind because I absolutely love Mabel.

We liked watching the kite flying all over the sky, but the best part was the string -- we fought over it and got tangled in it and Rupert was totally wrapped up in it. Charlie was a little frustrated, but Mrs. G brought out cookies -- fish for us and chocolate chip for the humans and Charlie was so busy stuffing his cute little face, he forgot to be annoyed at us.

Charlie Joins the Group

Can you believe people are actually allergic to cats?  First Zan's mother and now Charlie's.

I met Charlie at Larry Lewis' today when I was visiting Monty.  Charlie is  Larry Lewis's nephew and he moved to New York last month.  He plans to visit very often because he loves cats and he's crazy about Monty.  Since Larry Lewis works night and day it seems, Monty will have a human to play with.

I wonder if Becky and Zan will like Charlie....OMG I hope they don't get into a fight over him like Mabel's friends Muffin and The Countess who are fighting over some guy named  Archibald.  But that's a whole other story.

TALLULAH'S TREATS!

FINALLY -- MY VERY OWN NAME ON THE LABEL!!!

All of my friends were so happy with Jenny's fish cookies that they couldn't stop eating them, so Mabel called Diana at Pets! Pets! Pets! and told her all about it. Diana was very excited and she asked us to come to her office to look at the designs for the packaging.

I love going to the Pets! Pets! Pets! office. They make such a big fuss over me. First they gave us the sales reports for Mabel's Table. Sales get bigger every month, and the #1 seller is Calves Liver Pate with Bacon Nuggets, of course.

There were three different packages to choose from and they all said Tallulah's Treats from Mabel's Table:

* A cellophane bag tied with a pink ribbon -- my color
* A square box
* A round canister

I chose the canister because when I knocked it over, the cookies made noises. Now every cat who has a smart enough human to buy Tallulah's Treats can knock over the canister and push it around to let the human know it's time for a fish cookie...or two.

Zan's Birthday Party

Zan loved my book so much, she got her mother to buy copies of it to give to all the girls whom she invited to her birthday party.  There were 17 all together, including Zan and Becky...and she asked me to make a personal appearance at the party to autograph the books.  I know the girls will tell all of their friends about me and soon I'll be famous in their school.  I love being famous.

Raiding the Cookie Jar

I batted Lillian's special pocket, and then I scratched around until I made a little hole and got out some catnip...Dee-lish!  After awhile I was so hungry I walked into the kitchen looking for a snack.  There was nothing out...bummer.

I remembered that Jenny kept some fish cookies in a special cookie jar just for moi.   I jumped up on the counter to get some, but the cover was on the jar and I knew Mabel would kill me if I knocked it off and broke it...double bummer.

Then my inner genius kicked in.  I pulled on the paper towels until I had a paper towel pillow on the counter next to the cookie jar.  I nudged the cover off the jar and it had a perfect landing. Getting a cookie out was easy because the jar was full up to the top.  Dee-lish!

Now if I could only get Jenny to make Mrs. G's catnip cookies next time.

The Catnip Dolls

Mrs. G was so happy that we LOVED her catnip that she decided to have a catnip party for Rupert and Alice and Monty and me.  She made catnip tea and catnip cookies and she gave each of us a present to take home.  They were the most ingenious little people dolls and they had catnip sewed into their pockets.

I'm calling my person  Lillian after the lady who lives across the hall from us.  She's a million years old and she thinks she's better than everyone just because she used to be famous for something. Whenever she sees me she sniffs as if she's allergic.  Allergic my eye --now I can bat her around all day long!

Zan Reads My Memoirs to Me

Zan came downstairs to see me today.  Her parents were at work, Becky had a dentist appointment and Zan was lonely so she called to see if she could come over and play with me.

We had just gotten a new box of my book, "Tallulah:  Memoirs of a Business Cat" and Zan read it out loud to me.  I just love hearing my memoirs -- I could listen to them every day.  When it was time for her to go home, she said she was going to get her mother to buy her a copy of my book, but Mabel said we would give her one for a present, and I autographed it with my paw print, of course.

Rolling in Catnip

Mrs. G cut some catnip for Rupert and me.  We sniffed it and pawed it and rolled around in it and then we chewed it up.  We felt terrific -- we  told jokes to each other and then went inside to raid the fridge.  It's very frustrating not to be able to open the fridge whenever we want.  But Rupert is sneaky...he had a hidden stash of fish cookies...Dee-lish!

I wish we could eat catnip every day.

Mrs G. Plants Catnip

Mrs. G invited me to come up to the penthouse where she was planting for the summer.  Her penthouse  garden is very beautiful.  She has trees and planters and a very comfortable chaise lounge and a table and chairs.  I wonder if she'll have a tea party for us.

Rupert and I were especially interested in the catnip she was planting.  It smelled dee-lish and we couldn't wait to get our paws on it.
